1975 Chevrolet Cheyenne Short Step Side C10 Pick Up-
This truck is a slice of Old School 80’s
Show Truck! Squeeze this truck and you will find great details in just about
every nook and cranny! A beautiful Show Rig that will certainly bring back the
days of Color, Chrome, and Subtle "80"s body mods! The original owner took this
truck to a whole new level by spending $1600 just to sand and grind the engine
block smooth for paint. The frame, firewall, and inner fenders are ground
sanded and show finished. Before Orange Delight
was finished the owner spent over $25,000 to build this truck to be show
quality.
It was sold brand new at University Chevrolet in Seattle, Washington and was built to special order as a C10 Step Side with a 350 cu.in engine with 340
rear gears. Other great features include Power steering, Power disc brakes, and
a Tilt steering column, and cooled by a Heavy duty radiator.
The first place to start a view of this truck in under
the Kool reversed hood and then straight into the
incredible attention to detail under the hood. The entire engine compartment
shows many many hours of labor and tons of cash.
Everything is Polished, Chrome Plated, Braided and Painted and it even has
button tuck side panels!
A view from the front shows a Custom Tube Grill, Blue
Dot Headlights with Chrome Louvered Accents. The door handles have been shaved
and are opened by electric poppers cleverly hidden behind the Bowtie Emblem in
the CheyenneCab trim. A Flip-Up and or Pop out Sunroof has also been installed. The factory
Fuel door was relocated to the rear fender and Mustang Flip-Up race style fuel cap
was installed and the Bed Steps have been plated. The Bed Caps and Tail Gate
have been Smoothed and Shaved. A Frenched Antenna has been installed in the LR
Fender and Rose’s are Etched in the rear lower of the side windows. The truck
sits low on 10 inch Rally Wheels wrapped with white letter tires.
On the inside is Chrysler style leather button tuck
buckets that are accompanied by a custom built console. The glove box and
ashtray lid have been chromed and the door panels and console are a combination
of classic velour and black button tuck.
Known History: Sold in Seattle Washington and modified by the original owner, and shown extensively in the mid 80’s. In fact
a 1986 National Show Car sticker still resides on the RF window. It was then
sold to the Mayor of Haley Idaho who pampered it for many years and was then
traded in on a new car in Boise.
I am the third owner and have updated and restored “Orange Delight” to Show Quality once again. Nearly $4000
was spent on paint and body work performed by Hot Rod Dreamworks in Canby, Oregon who is a renowned builder of show cars. Additionally, $1000 was spent on the
restoration of the pick-up bed with the quality finishing and replacement of
the bed wood and the stainless strips and fasteners. A rebuilt turbo 350
transmission has been installed, the braking system rebuilt, worn out weather
strip replaced, new radiator, new tires and wheels, and all damaged trim items
replaced.
